At the end of summer, the black-fruit season begins. Just at this time, fragrant apples ripen. Nature itself tells us to cook them together. Cook a compote of apples and chokeberry — the perfect bouquet of flavors and aromas! I'm telling you a simple recipe.

Ingredients

Step-by-step cooking recipe

Remove the berries of the chokeberry from the brushes, rinse thoroughly and pour boiling water for 2 minutes.

Drain the water, transfer the berries to sterilized jars.

Cut the apples into quarters and peel the seeds.

Place the apples to the rowan tree in jars.

Pour boiling water up to the top and leave for half an hour under the lids.

Drain the water into a saucepan, add sugar, citric acid and boil for 3 minutes.

Pour boiling syrup into jars, roll up and wrap with a thick towel for a day.
