Pears in syrup are a fragrant dessert that both children and adults are delighted with. The cooking process is short and not tedious - without sterilization. Pears are tender and delicious: they are good as an independent delicacy and as a filling in sweet pastries.

Ingredients

  • Pear - 1 kg
  • Sugar - 200 g
  • Water - 500 ml
  • Citric acid - 2 pinches
  • Vanillin - to taste

Step-by-step cooking recipe

Wash the pears, peel and core, cut into slices or halves (at your discretion).

To prevent the pears from darkening during the preparation process, place the already sliced fruits in water with the addition of citric acid - let them lie in an acidified environment while you process all the fruits.

Fill pre-sterilized jars tightly with prepared pears.

Boil water and pour boiling water over the fruits in jars. Cover the jars with sterile lids and leave for 10-15 minutes.

Then drain the liquid from the jars into a saucepan, add sugar, citric acid and vanilla, mix and bring to a boil.

Pour boiling syrup over the pears in jars to the top. Roll up the jars, turn them upside down, wrap them up and leave them to cool completely. Store the cooled workpiece in a cool, dark place.
