One of my favorite homemade preparations is canned gooseberry compote. This is a good option for those who do not like sweet jams and jams too much. There is much less sugar, and if you wish, you can reduce it even more.
Ingredients
- Gooseberry - 1.5 kg
- Sugar - 1.5 glasses
- Lemon - 0.5 pieces
- Water - 1.5 l
Step-by-step cooking recipe
Boil water with sugar, send gooseberries there and bring them to a boil again.
Boil the compote for 3-5 minutes and add lemon juice.
Pour it into sterile jars and roll up with sterile lids.
