The original pesto recipe came from Liguria, an Italian region where a lot of basil grows. In the recipe, it is supplemented with olive oil, various spices and nuts. Cedar trees are most often used, but this time I suggest experimenting with walnuts.

Rinse and dry the basil leaves.

Fry the nuts in a dry frying pan.

Chop all the ingredients in a blender and season the pesto to taste.
