It is very fashionable to decorate food laconically now. And it is in this style that my recipe is a herring under a fur coat made of beet mousse. The salad can be laid out in the form of a cake, supplemented with decorations of vegetables, lemon and herbs.
Ingredients
- Herring (finished fillet) – 300 g
- Beetroot (boiled) – 200 g
- Potatoes (boiled) – 200 g
- Carrots (boiled) – 150 g
- Chicken eggs (boiled) – 2 pieces
- Mayonnaise - 120 ml
- Lemon juice - 1 art.l.
- Water - 60 ml
- Gelatin - 2 tsp.
- Onion - 2 pieces
- Ground black pepper - to taste
- Salt - to taste
Step-by-step cooking recipe
Fill the gelatin with cold water and set aside for 10 minutes.
Grate potatoes and carrots, cut onions and herring into small pieces.
Chop the beetroot in a blender, add salt, pepper, lemon juice and half of the mayonnaise. Pour the warmed gelatin into it and knead until smooth.
Put layers of herring, onion and potatoes on the bottom of the plate. Season with salt, pepper and mayonnaise.
Put the carrots and eggs, sprinkle with pepper and salt. Add a layer of beet mousse on top and sides. Smooth with a knife and put the salad in the refrigerator for 2 hours.
