Such jam can be served as an exquisite dessert. Berries are perfectly combined with citrus aroma and sweet nuts. I've been making gooseberry jam with oranges and walnuts for many years in a row, and it doesn't bother me at all!
Ingredients
- Gooseberry - 2 kg
- Orange - 1 kg
- Walnuts - 1 kg
- Sugar - 2 kg
- Citric acid - 0,5 tsp.
Step-by-step cooking recipe
Scald oranges with boiling water, peel and finely chop.
Peel the gooseberries from dry tails, rinse and pass through a meat grinder.
Mix both blanks, add sugar and boil for 10 minutes. Remove from the heat and set aside to cool.
Dry the walnuts in a frying pan and chop them in a blender.
Bring the jam to a boil, add nuts and citric acid, boil for 10 minutes. Fill clean dry jars with hot jam, roll up and turn upside down.
