Tzimes is a very unusual dish for our culinary tradition. On the one hand, it's a vegetable stew. On the other hand, it is sweet and in Jewish cuisine refers to dessert dishes. In any case, an unusual recipe definitely deserves attention!
Ingredients
- Carrots - 1 kg
- Olive oil - 2 art.l.
- Raisins - 1 glass
- Dried apricots - 140 g
- Brown Sugar - 3 art.l.
- Cinnamon - 0.5 tsp.
- Honey - 2 art.l.
- Lemon juice - 2 art.l.
- Ground black pepper - 1 pinch
- Salt - 1 pinch
Step-by-step cooking recipe
Cut the carrots into slices and fry in olive oil until soft.
Put it in a saucepan and pour a glass of boiling water.
Add raisins, dried apricots, honey, sugar and salt, and simmer for 40 minutes on low heat, stirring.
Add lemon juice and spices, and simmer for another 20-30 minutes.
