Finding the perfect sauce in the store is quite difficult and it's better to learn how to cook it yourself. So one day I made this version of tomato sauce. The balance of salt, spices and garlic in it is impeccable!
Ingredients
- Tomato juice - 400 ml
- Bell pepper - 2 pieces
- Garlic - 3 cloves
- Onion - 1 piece
- Olives (without a bone) – 100 g
- Olive oil - 2 tbsp.l.
- Lemon zest - 0,5 tsp.
- Ground black pepper - to taste
- Sugar - 1 art.l.
- Salt - to taste
Step-by-step cooking recipe
Peel and chop the bell pepper, onion and garlic.
Cut the olives into small pieces.
Heat the oil in a frying pan, add the onion and garlic and lightly brown.
Add the bell pepper and continue to fry for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Pour in the tomato juice, season with salt and pepper and simmer for 10 minutes.
Add the zest, sugar and olives. After 3 minutes, turn off the heat. Before serving, the sauce should stand for 1.5-2 hours.
