Ingredients
- Herring (lightly salted) – 1 piece
- Herring (smoked) – 1 piece
- Beetroot (boiled) – 300 g
- Potatoes (boiled) – 300 g
- Carrots (boiled) – 200 g
- Chicken eggs (boiled) – 4 pieces
- Onion - 3 pieces
- Mayonnaise - 350 ml
- Parsley (for decoration) – 2 twigs
- Ground black pepper - to taste
- Salt - to taste
Step-by-step cooking recipe
Peel, gut and finely chop both types of herring.
Grate eggs and boiled vegetables, chop onions with a knife.
Mix the smoked and salted herring and put it on a wide dish. Add onion and carrot layers. Season with salt, pepper, and mayonnaise.
Lay out the potatoes and part of the beetroot. Add salt and pepper again.
Spread out a layer of eggs mixed with mayonnaise. Add the remaining beetroot on top.
Garnish the salad with egg yolk crumbs and parsley. Before serving, insist for 1.5 hours in the refrigerator.
