This recipe will come in handy if you run out of tomatoes at home. Bulgarian pepper lecho with tomato paste turns out to be just as delicious. You can even say that it is easier and faster to cook in this way. However, try and decide for yourself!

Ingredients

  • Bell pepper - 2 kg
  • Garlic - 5 teeth
  • Vegetable oil - 3 tbsp.l .
  • Tomato paste - 300 g
  • Vinegar - 60 ml
  • Ground black pepper - 0,5 tsp.
  • Sugar - 1 art.l.
  • Salt - 25 g
  • Water - 800 ml

Step-by-step cooking recipe

Peel the Bulgarian pepper from the seeds, stalks and cut.

In a deep saucepan, mix water with tomato paste, salt and sugar.

Pour in the oil, vinegar and boil for 3 minutes.

Add the bell pepper and simmer for 30 minutes.

Squeeze garlic through the press, pepper and simmer for another 10 minutes.

Put the hot lecho in sterilized jars, roll it up and wrap it with a warm blanket for a day.
