People can be divided into two groups. The first is the ardent opponents of prunes, and the second is its admirers. If you are a representative of the latter, prepare a sauce of prunes for the winter. It will perfectly complement meat and fish dishes.

Ingredients

  • Prunes (pitted) – 1 kg
  • Onion - 300 g
  • Olive oil - 2 tbsp.l .
  • Lemon juice - 120 ml
  • Ground black pepper - 0,5 tsp.
  • Paprika - 0,5 tsp.
  • Sugar - 2 art.l.
  • Salt - 0,5 tsp.
  • Water - 200 ml

Step-by-step cooking recipe

Wash the prunes and pour boiling water for 10 minutes.

Drain the water, chop the prunes in a blender.

Peel and finely chop the onion.

Pour into a hot frying pan with oil and fry until golden brown.

Add prunes, spices, sugar, salt and water. Simmer for 15 minutes, stirring frequently.

Puree with an immersion blender until smooth.

Soak for another 2-3 minutes, pour in the lemon juice and immediately remove from the heat.

Fill the prepared jars with hot sauce and roll them up.
