Physalis is a very unusual, unusual, but at the same time a universal ingredient. It is used to make jam, compotes, and also original vegetable caviar. If you haven't tried this option yet, catch the recipe.

Ingredients

  • Physalis - 2 kg
  • Carrots - 1 kg
  • Onion - 1 kg
  • Parsley - 1 bundle
  • Vegetable oil - 1.5-2 glasses
  • Salt - 2 tbsp.l.
  • Sugar - 2 tbsp.l.
  • Vinegar - 2 tbsp.l.
  • Spices and seasonings - 1 tsp.

Step-by-step cooking recipe

Clean the physalis and cut into quarters.

Fry it in oil until soft.

Arbitrarily chop the onion and carrot, and fry them separately, too.

Put everything through a meat grinder, add sugar, salt and spices, and simmer the caviar for about 40 minutes.

Add chopped parsley 10 minutes before the end, and vinegar 5 minutes before the end.

Roll the caviar from the physalis into sterile jars.
