Forshmak with potatoes is another classic solution of Jewish and Slavic cuisines. It turns out to be even more satisfying, and can even replace the main dish if served with bread or vegetables. Try it on occasion!
Ingredients
- Herring (fillet) – 800 g
- Potatoes - 2 pieces
- Chicken eggs - 2 pieces
- Onion - 1 piece
- Apples - 1 piece
- Spices and seasonings - 1 tsp.
- Butter - 50 g
Step-by-step cooking recipe
Peel, coarsely chop and boil the potatoes until tender. Mash it in mashed potatoes with butter.
Boil hard-boiled eggs and let cool. Peel the apples and onions.
Pass the herring, eggs, onion and apple through a meat grinder. Mix everything with mashed potatoes and season to taste.
