Fragrant herbs in berry compotes are not the most famous solution, but it is certainly worth attention. And today I will tell you more on the basis of such a simple recipe from gooseberries. It is most delicious to drink compote chilled.
Ingredients
- Gooseberry - 800 g
- Water - 1.5 l
- Brown Sugar - 5 tbsp.l .
- Mint - 3 twigs
- Rosemary - 1 twig
- Thyme - 1 twig
- Lime (or lemon) – 1 piece
Step-by-step cooking recipe
Pick the gooseberries, fill with water and bring to a boil.
Add sugar and boil the compote for 5 minutes, stirring.
Add all the greens and sliced lime, and boil for another 5 minutes.
Let the compote cool and strain.
