It's time to cook herring under a fur coat for the New Year. Today this salad should be decorated in a special way. You can draw a Christmas tree, a clock or toys - whatever you like.
Ingredients
- Herring (lightly salted) – 1 piece
- Beetroot (boiled) – 3 pieces
- Potatoes (boiled) – 200 g
- Carrots (boiled) – 2 pieces
- Chicken eggs (boiled) – 3 pieces
- Onion - 2 pieces
- Processed cheese (for decoration) – 30 g
- Mayonnaise - 200 ml
- Dill - 1 bundle
- Ground black pepper - to taste
- Ground coriander - to taste
- Salt - to taste
Step-by-step cooking recipe
Peel, gut and finely chop the herring.
Chop onion and dill with a knife, grate boiled vegetables, cheese and eggs. Select cheese, a little beetroot, carrots and dill for decoration.
On a wide dish, assemble the salad in layers. First, lay out the herring, add coriander, pepper and a layer of onion.
Then spread out the potatoes. Season with salt, pepper and mayonnaise.
Add layers of dill, eggs, carrots and beets. Brush generously with mayonnaise and smooth with a fork.
Decorate the salad with cheese, pieces of vegetables and dill, draw Christmas patterns with mayonnaise. Put the dish in the refrigerator for 2 hours.
