Gooseberry compote with cherry leaves is a very interesting drink. Cherry branches give the compote a cherry flavor. This compote is also called royal, most likely because of its rich taste and pleasant color.

Ingredients

Step-by-step cooking recipe

In fact, the process of preparing this compote is time-consuming. That's all, because washed berries need to have their stems and tails removed. You can do this using scissors.

Next, take two cans of 2 liters, divide the berries in half, put them in jars and pour boiling water. Let stand for 20 minutes and drain the water back into the pan.

Put cherry branches or leaves in the water. Boil for 10 minutes, add sugar, mix well and cook for another 10 minutes. At the end, add citric acid.

Pour the syrup over the berries, roll up the lids. Send the jars to a dark and cool place.
