No time for a complicated dish? Stew the young cabbage with bacon. You can enhance the flavor by sprinkling bacon with spices during the frying process. I use ground bay leaf, but cloves, cumin, allspice and black pepper are also suitable.
Ingredients
- Young cabbage - 700 g
- Onion - 2 pieces
- Bacon - 200 g
- Vegetable oil - 50 ml
- Dill (for submission) – 5 twigs
- Bay leaf (ground) – 0,5 tsp.
- Salt - to taste
Step-by-step cooking recipe
Chop the cabbage into strips, sprinkle with salt and slightly mash with your hands.
Cut the bacon into thin slices. Peel the onion from the husk and chop.
Heat the oil in a frying pan, add the onion and fry until golden brown.
Add the bacon, ground bay leaf and cook until all the pieces are browned.
Add the cabbage, mix gently, cover and simmer for 10 minutes.
Add salt and turn it off. Sprinkle the finished dish with finely chopped dill.
