Even the simplest applesauce will sparkle with new colors if you add something unusual to it. For example, chokeberry. I recommend rolling it in small jars for one serving – delicious and convenient.

Peel the apples, cut into pieces and cover with sugar for half an hour.

Pour boiling water over the rowan, boil for 7-10 minutes and discard in a colander. Grind the berry through a sieve.

Bring the apples to a boil and simmer for half an hour until soft. Grind with a blender.

Mix with mountain ash, add more spices to taste and boil the puree for 5-7 minutes.

Roll it up in sterile jars.
