Spicy tomato ketchup for winter

The cooking process is not complicated, but long. Vegetables are pre-boiled, rubbed through a sieve and only after that comes the stage of prolonged cooking. In the end, the spicy tomato ketchup turns out to be just perfect!

Ingredients

  • Tomatoes - 3 kg
  • Hot red pepper - 1 pod
  • Garlic - 5 teeth
  • Ground black pepper - 0,5 tsp.
  • Vinegar - 80 ml
  • Sugar - 150 g
  • Salt - 100 g
  • Water - 150 ml

Step-by-step cooking recipe

Cut tomatoes into large pieces and put them in a saucepan.

Add water and boil for 20 minutes.

Rub the resulting mass through a sieve to get rid of the seeds and peel.

Add sugar, salt, ground pepper and simmer for 45 minutes.

Chop the hot pepper and garlic in a blender.

Add the spicy mixture to a saucepan with tomato mass and cook for another 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Pour in the vinegar, mix and arrange in sterilized jars.

Roll up the ketchup, turn the jars upside down and wrap up with a warm blanket.
