I rarely buy sauces and ketchups, because I'm used to cooking them myself to my liking. Today I will share with you my favorite recipe for unusual ketchup from blackthorn. He is very popular in our family!
Ingredients
- Plums (thorns) – 2 kg
- Tomatoes - 400 g
- Onion - 200 g
- Garlic - 5 cloves
- Hot red pepper - 2 pod
- Vinegar - 2 tbsp.l.
- Basil - 50 g
- Hop-suneli - 1 tsp.
- Ground black pepper - 1 tsp.
- Sugar - 50 g
- Salt - 40 g
- Water (boiled) – 200 ml
Step-by-step cooking recipe
Finely chop the basil, tomatoes and peeled onion.
Cut the hot pepper lengthwise, peel from the seeds and chop.
Rinse the prunes, pour cold water and boil for 15 minutes after boiling.
Cool, flip into a colander and rub through a sieve to remove the peel and bones.
Mix the resulting mass with hot pepper, tomatoes, basil, onion and water. Boil for 20 minutes.
Add salt, sugar, spices, garlic passed through the press and cook for another 10 minutes.
Pour in the vinegar, mix and arrange in sterilized jars. Roll up and wrap up for a day with a warm blanket.
