If you have your own cottage with a small garden, you know exactly how generous the gooseberry harvest sometimes is. It is not always obvious what to do with it in such quantities. And here is one of the great ideas – compote of apples and gooseberries for the winter.
Ingredients
- Apples - 600 g
- Gooseberry - 500 g
- Sugar - 300 g
- Water - 2-3 l
- Citric acid - 1 tsp.
Step-by-step cooking recipe
Cut the apples into slices and put them in jars.
Add the gooseberries and pour boiling water over everything.
Cover with lids and leave for 10 minutes.
Drain the water and boil it again with sugar.
Add citric acid to the syrup, pour the compote and roll up the jars.
