Mukhammara is the most popular red pepper snack. It is very common in Middle Eastern countries, and from there it has spread safely to Israel. Now it is one of the integral elements of Turkish and Jewish cuisine.
Ingredients
- White bread - 2 slices
- Bell pepper - 3 pieces
- Chili pepper - 2 pieces
- Walnuts - 120 g
- Garlic - 4 clove
- Balsamic vinegar - 2 tbsp.l.
- Lemon - 0.5 pieces
- Zira (ground) – 1 tsp.
- Sugar - 0.5 tsp.
- Spices and seasonings - 1 tsp.
- Olive oil - 100 ml
Step-by-step cooking recipe
Wrap the sweet pepper in foil and bake in the oven for 35-40 minutes at 180 degrees.
Let it cool, peel and slice.
Dry the bread in a frying pan and break it.
Chop sweet pepper, chili and bread in a blender. Add the balsamic, lemon juice and sugar, and mix.
Add crushed garlic, chopped nuts and spices. Beat the mass again.
Add olive oil to the desired consistency.
