Barberry berries are very sour, so they should be cooked with a lot of sugar. The barberry pastille turns out to be very fragrant, tasty and beautiful. Dry it in the oven or use an electric dryer, observing the specified temperature regime.

Ingredients

  • Barberry - 1 kg
  • Sugar - 800 g
  • Water - 500 ml
  • Vegetable oil (odorless) – 2 tbsp.l .

Step-by-step cooking recipe

Fill the barberry with water and boil for 15 minutes.

Put the soft berries in a colander and rub through a sieve.

Mix the resulting mass with sugar and beat well with a mixer.

Put on a slow fire and boil until the desired density.

Cover a deep baking sheet with baking paper and brush with vegetable oil.

Lay out a thick mass with a layer of 0.5 cm and smooth it out. Dry in the oven at a temperature of 65 degrees for 6-8 hours.

Separate the finished pastille from the paper, roll it into a tight roll and cut it.
