If you have never cooked Asian dishes, onigiri with crab sticks is a fairly simple and budget option to try yourself as a master of Japanese cuisine. Start with this simple recipe, and then improve your skills and experiment with new fillings.
Ingredients
- Round rice - 1,5 glasses
- Crab sticks - 100 g
- Water - 1,5 glasses
- Nori - 1 sheet
- Rice vinegar - 20 ml
- Sugar - 1 tsp.
- Salt - 0,5 tsp.
- Mayonnaise (sharp Japanese) – 15 g
- Avocado - 1 pcs.
- Sesame (black) – for decoration
Step-by-step cooking recipe
Wash the rice in cold water, boil until tender over low heat.
Mix vinegar, salt and sugar. Pour the resulting mixture over the rice, let it soak.
Grate crab sticks on a fine grater, combine with finely chopped avocado and mayonnaise.
Form small cakes from rice, put the filling, another layer of rice on top, then form dense triangles.
Cut the nori leaf into small rectangles and wrap each onigiri with them from the bottom.
