If you replace mayonnaise with lean sauce, then you can safely offer such a snack to vegetarians. I often cook vegetable shawarma at home. Despite the lack of meat, it still turns out very satisfying.
Ingredients
- Cabbage - 350 g
- Bell pepper - 200 g
- Tomatoes - 200 g
- Cucumbers - 2 pieces
- Carrots - 2 pieces
- Onion - 2 pieces
- Mayonnaise - 160 ml
- Ground black pepper - to taste
- Salt - to taste
- Lavash (thin) – 4 sheet
Step-by-step cooking recipe
Chop tomatoes, cucumbers, peeled onions and bell peppers.
Chop the cabbage into strips, sprinkle with salt and pepper, mash slightly.
Mix the cabbage with half of the mayonnaise.
Spread out the pita bread, smear with the remaining mayonnaise.
Lay cabbage, bell peppers, tomatoes, cucumbers, onions and carrots on one edge in layers.
Fold the sides inwards, roll the shawarma and lightly brown on the grill.
