The most satisfying filling for calzone is based on minced meat. It is important here that it is juicy and tender enough, otherwise the dish will turn out dry. I tried several options before finally settling on the most successful one.
Ingredients
For Dough:
- Flour - 480 g
- Mayonnaise - 2 tbsp.l.
- Sugar - 1 tsp.
- Salt - 1 tsp.
- Dry yeast - 1 tsp.
- Water - 200 ml
For filling:
- Minced meat - 300 g
- Onion - 1 piece
- Italian herbs - 1 tsp.
- Tomatoes - 2 pieces
- Basil - 2 sheet
- Garlic - 1 clove
- Tomato sauce - 1 art.l.
- Mozzarella - 150 g
Step-by-step cooking recipe
Dilute mayonnaise, sugar and yeast in warm water. Leave it on for 15 minutes.
Add flour and salt, knead the dough and leave it for an hour.
Chop the onion and fry with minced meat until tender. Season it.
Roll out the dough into a circle and smear half with the sauce.
Put the minced meat and randomly chopped filling ingredients.
Close the calzone and pinch the edges. Make an incision for steam.
Bake the calzone for about half an hour in the oven at 180 degrees.
