Today I will be happy to tell you how to make kvass from currants at home. The drink turns out to be incredibly fragrant and delicious. I recommend serving cold, adding a couple of ice cubes and a sprig of fragrant mint to the glass.
Ingredients
- Black Currant - 500 g
- Dry yeast - 1 art.l.
- Sugar - 250 g
- Citric acid - 0,5 tsp.
- Raisins - 10 pieces
- Water - 5 l
Step-by-step cooking recipe
Sort the currants, rinse thoroughly and grind in a blender.
In a deep saucepan, mix water, citric acid and currant stock. Bring to a boil, turn off the heat and cool to 35 degrees.
Strain, add sugar and dry yeast. Stir, cover with gauze and leave for 1 day in a dark, warm place.
Pour kvass into plastic bottles, add raisins to each. Close it tightly and put it in the refrigerator for 4 days.
