Today I want to share with you a recipe for herring under a fur coat with green onions. I cook this salad every time I manage to buy a delicious herring in the store. A small salted fish and a juicy onion just perfectly harmonize with each other.
Ingredients
- Herring (low salt) – 1 piece
- Potatoes (boiled) – 200 g
- Beetroot (boiled) – 200 g
- Carrots (boiled) – 2 pieces
- Chicken eggs (boiled) – 2 pieces
- Onion - 1 piece
- Mayonnaise - 180 ml
- Green onion (for decoration) – 2 stems
- Ground black pepper - to taste
- Ground coriander - to taste
- Salt - to taste
Step-by-step cooking recipe
Peel the herring, gut and cut into small pieces.
Chop both types of onions with a knife. Grate boiled vegetables and eggs on a grater.
Assemble the salad in layers in the following sequence: herring, onion, potato, eggs, carrot, beetroot. After potatoes and beets, add salt, pepper, coriander and mayonnaise.
Sprinkle the finished salad generously with green onions and put it in the refrigerator for 2 hours.
