If you think that borscht is too complicated a dish for a slow cooker due to the large number of processes, I hasten to convince you otherwise. I suggest starting with such a simple homemade recipe with pork ribs and sauerkraut. Just don't forget to rinse it and squeeze it out.
Ingredients
- Pork ribs - 600 g
- Onion - 1 piece
- Carrots - 1 piece
- Parsley root - 1 piece
- Beetroot - 2 pieces
- Tomato paste - 2 tbsp.l.
- Sauerkraut - 400 g
- Potatoes - 2 pieces
- Water - 2.5 l
- Spices and seasonings - 1 art.l.
Step-by-step cooking recipe
Cut the ribs and cook them for 20 minutes in frying or baking mode. Do not close the lid of the slow cooker and stir.
Add chopped onion, carrot and parsley root. Continue frying for another 10 minutes.
Add the grated beetroot and spices, and fry for another 5 minutes.
Add the tomato and continue frying again for 5 minutes. Disable the program.
Add sliced potatoes and sauerkraut to the slow cooker, fill with water and cook for 2-2.5 hours in the "Soup" or "Stewing" mode.
A couple of minutes before the end, season again.
