The bright and rich taste of barberry is ideal for a wide variety of blanks. Most often it is added to spices and sauces, but today we will go further, and I will tell you how to cook compote from it for the winter. Also without sterilization.
Ingredients
- Barberry - 300 g
- Sugar - 200 g
- Citric acid - 0.5 tsp.
Step-by-step cooking recipe
Wash the barberry, pour it into a jar, pour boiling water, cover and leave for 10 minutes.
Drain this water, boil it again, pour in the barberry and leave for another 10 minutes.
Drain the water again, add sugar and boil until the syrup is smooth.
Pour in the barberry, add citric acid and roll up the compote.
