Dried tomatoes are a savory snack of Mediterranean cuisine that can be cooked at home. The drying process, although not fast, does not require special culinary skills. Serve these tomatoes to the table with feta and black bread croutons.

Ingredients

  • Tomatoes (Cream) – 1 kg
  • Garlic - 10 teeth
  • Rosemary - 1 twig
  • Basil - 1 twig
  • Olive oil - 250 ml
  • Ground black pepper - 20 g
  • Sugar - 20 g
  • Salt - 20 g

Step-by-step cooking recipe

Wash tomatoes and cut into quarters, peel garlic.

Put the tomatoes cut up on a baking sheet lined with parchment, sprinkle with a mixture of salt, sugar and black pepper. Put a little rosemary and basil leaves on top, as well as 5 cloves of garlic.

Sprinkle the workpiece with olive oil and send it to the oven preheated to 120 ° C for 4-5 hours (convection mode).

Pour olive oil into a pre-sterilized jar, place a clove of garlic and some of the remaining herbs.

Put the dried tomatoes in a jar with oil in layers, alternating with the remaining herbs and garlic cloves. So fill the jar to the top. Then close the jar with the blank hermetically, cool it and send it to the refrigerator for storage.
