Figs have a special sweet taste and dense flesh, which give the jam a special flavor and texture. I usually add a little lemon juice and cinnamon to green figs to give a brighter taste. This jam is great for tea.
Ingredients
- Figs (green) – 1 kg
- Water - 300 ml
- Sugar - 1 kg
- Ground cinnamon - 1 tsp.
- Lemon juice - 1 art.l.
Step-by-step cooking recipe
Cut the tails off the figs and rinse it thoroughly.
Boil water with sugar, boil for 5 minutes and pour syrup over figs. Let it cool down.
Bring the jam to a boil and boil for 15 minutes. Let cool again.
Bring to a boil again, add cinnamon and lemon juice, and boil for another 15 minutes.
Roll up the jam in sterile jars for the winter.
