Cut carrots into strips, diced potatoes, chop cabbage.
Put it all in boiling broth and cook for about 15-20 minutes.
Chop the onion, grate the beetroot and fry together for 7 minutes.
Add ketchup, spices and a little broth, stir and simmer for 5 minutes.
Add the roast and chopped garlic to the broth.
Bring to a boil, boil for a couple more minutes and let the borscht brew.
