I love to roll up compotes for the winter, because it's very fast and easy. Even on hot days, you can allocate a little time, but with jam it will not be possible. I share a recipe for a simple and quick plum compote. I prefer seedless – you can serve it as a dessert.
Ingredients
- Plums - 500 g
- Water - 1.5 l
- Sugar - 170 g
- Carnation - 6 pieces
- Cinnamon - 1 wand
- Star anise - 2 pieces
Step-by-step cooking recipe
Rinse the plums thoroughly, cut into halves and remove the seeds. Varieties can be taken any and even mixed – the main thing is that there are fruits of approximately the same size in one jar.
Heat the sterilized jars, spread out the plum and pour boiling water for 10 minutes.
Drain the water into a saucepan, add sugar, cloves, star anise, cinnamon or other spices to taste. Boil until the sugar dissolves.
Remove the cinnamon stick, pour the syrup over the plum and roll up the jars with lids. The rest of the spices can be left or also removed – at your discretion.
