I love the delicious combination of meat with berry sauces. Therefore, I try to use the berry harvest every season not only for jam-jams-compotes, but also to close a couple of jars of savory unsweetened sauces. Today we will prepare a sauce of red currants.
Ingredients
- Red Currant - 1,5 kg
- Garlic - 1 head
- Chili pepper - 1/2 tsp.
- Spices and seasonings (pepper mix) – 1/2 tsp.
- Sugar - 1 art.l.
- Salt - 1/2 tbsp.l.
Step-by-step cooking recipe
Sort the currant, remove from the twigs, rinse under running water and throw it into a colander. Pass the slightly dried berries through a meat grinder.
Rub the currant mass through a sieve to get rid of the seeds.
Add chopped garlic, salt, sugar and pepper to the currant juice. Mix well.
Pour the currant sauce into small sterile jars and sterilize in a water bath. Close the jars tightly, cool them and send them for storage in a cool dark place (you can also put them in the refrigerator).
