Winter holidays are simply impossible to imagine without a herring under a fur coat. Lightly salted fish, delicious vegetables and crispy onions combined with mayonnaise are incredibly delicious. I share my most favorite recipe, according to which I cook most often!
Ingredients
- Herring (low salt) – 1 piece
- Beetroot (boiled) – 200 g
- Potatoes (boiled) – 250 g
- Carrots (boiled) – 2 pieces
- Onion - 1 piece
- Chicken eggs (boiled) – 2 pieces
- Mayonnaise - 180 ml
- Lemon juice - 1 tsp.
- Ground black pepper - to taste
- Salt - to taste
Step-by-step cooking recipe
Peel the herring, gut it and cut it into small cubes. Grate the vegetables and eggs on a coarse grater, chop the onion.
Mix the onion with lemon juice and salt, cover with a lid or cling film for 10 minutes and put in a cold place.
On a wide dish, lay out layers of herring, onions, carrots and potatoes.
Sprinkle salt, black pepper on top and smear with mayonnaise.
Add eggs and beets, not forgetting mayonnaise, salt and pepper. The top layer must also be smeared with mayonnaise. I advise you to collect the salad with the help of a cooking ring.
Put the finished herring under a fur coat in the refrigerator for 2 hours to soak.
