Sometimes traditional Japanese rice balls called onigiri are fried in batter. It turns out a completely new dish in its essence, but still delicious. I share my favorite recipe, and you can add the filling to your taste if you wish.
Ingredients
- Round rice - 400 g
- Rice vinegar - 100 ml
- Sugar - 1 tbsp.l .
- Salt - 1 tsp.
- Shrimp (cleared) – 150 g
- Cream cheese - 200 g
- Chicken eggs - 1-2 pieces
- Breadcrumbs - 100 g
Step-by-step cooking recipe
Boil the rice according to the instructions.
Mix vinegar, sugar and salt, and season the rice. Let it cool down.
Fry or boil the peeled shrimp until tender.
Make small cakes of rice.
Put shrimp and cream cheese on each, and make dense onigiri.
Dip onigiri in beaten egg and roll in breadcrumbs.
Fry in a large amount of oil on all sides or deep-fried until browned.
