Not the most obvious, but incredibly interesting way to diversify an ordinary apple compote is a couple of leaves of purple basil. Firstly, it gives the drink a new taste and aroma. Secondly, an unusual shade deserves special attention.

Step-by-step cooking recipe

Cut the apples into large pieces and fill with water.

Bring everything to a boil, add sugar and cook for 10 minutes on low heat.

Add the basil leaves and cook the compote for another 5 minutes, and then strain.
