Like other traditional drinks, kvass has many interpretations. I really like sour kvass, because it refreshes best in the heat. So further in the recipe I will tell you how to properly cook it at home.
Ingredients
- Water - 3.5 l
- Fresh yeast - 15 g
- Sugar - 75 g
- Bread (rye) – 500 g
Step-by-step cooking recipe
Cut the bread and dry it in the oven.
Put it in a clean jar and pour 2 liters of boiling water.
Leave in a warm place for 1.5 hours.
Strain the workpiece. Pour another 1.5 liters of boiling water into the bread again.
Leave the workpiece in a warm place for another 2 hours.
Dilute the yeast in warm water according to the instructions.
Mix all the ingredients and leave the workpiece in a warm place for 12 hours.
Strain the kvass, bottle it and leave it in the refrigerator for another half day.
