Pass the garlic through the press.
Remove the skin from the tomatoes and chop them with a blender.
Finely chop the onion and fry it in oil for a couple of minutes.
Add garlic and 5 tablespoons of water, and simmer for 10 minutes.
Pour in the tomato, add the garlic and cook the sauce for 25 minutes.
Add sugar, salt and spices, and cook for another 5 minutes.
