- Water (or broth) – 1.8 l
- Pearl barley - 200 g
- Potatoes - 4 pieces
- Cucumbers (salty) – 4 pieces
- Cucumber pickle - 120 ml
- Carrots - 1 piece
- Onion - 1 piece
- Lard - 100 g
- Spices and seasonings - 1 tsp.
Step-by-step cooking recipe
Finely chop the bacon and fry the pork rinds. Put them aside.
In the same pan, fry the chopped onion and carrot until soft. Stir and add the chopped pickles.
Soak the pearl barley in advance and boil in boiling water or broth according to the instructions.
10 minutes before the end, add the sliced potatoes.
After 10 minutes, add the roast and cook for another 5 minutes.
Pour in the brine, add cucumbers and season the soup. Bring to a boil.
Remove the pickle from the heat and add the pork rinds before serving.
