Such a delicious and fragrant homemade borscht with sauerkraut can be served immediately. But I advise you to give it a good brew first, and then add a couple of spoons of sour cream and stir. You will definitely not regret it!
Ingredients
- Chicken - 300 g
- Sauerkraut - 230 g
- Potatoes - 500 g
- Onion - 1 piece
- Carrots - 1 piece
- Beetroot - 2 pieces
- Tomato paste - 2 art.l.
- Sour cream - 4 art.l.
- Spices and seasonings - 1 tbsp.l.
Step-by-step cooking recipe
Cut into strips or grate carrots, beets and onions. Slice the potatoes.
Boil the chicken until tender and add the potatoes to the broth. Cook for 20 minutes.
Fry onions, carrots and beets in a frying pan for 3 minutes on high heat, stirring.
Add tomato paste, turn down the heat and simmer under the lid for another 3 minutes.
If desired, rinse and squeeze the sauerkraut. Add to the roast and stir.
Pour a little broth into the roast and simmer for 7-10 minutes under the lid.
Season to taste, send to borscht and cook for another 5 minutes.
Before serving, add sour cream and mix.
