It's easy to turn ordinary stewed cabbage into an amazing festive treat. It is enough to add sausages, lentils and the dish immediately becomes more satisfying and fragrant. I advise you to use green lentils, as it retains its shape best.

Wash the lentils and soak them in cold water for 40 minutes.

Change the water, add salt and boil the lentils for 30 minutes after boiling.

Peel and chop the onion. Chop the cabbage into strips, grate the carrots. Cut the sausages into small pucks.

Heat the oil in a deep frying pan, add the onion and carrot and fry until golden brown.

Add the cabbage and continue to fry for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Add lentils, sausages and mix gently. Cover and simmer for 10 minutes.

Add salt, ground pepper, squeeze garlic through a press. After 2 minutes, turn off the heat.

Infuse the cabbage under the lid for 10-15 minutes. When serving, add chopped parsley to the plate.
