Peel the carp from the scales, gut, cut into small pieces and rinse.
Peel and slice potatoes and carrots.
Peel the onion from the husk. Chop one piece, leave the other whole.
Pour bay leaf and black pepper into a saucepan with cold water. Boil for 2 minutes.
Add potatoes, carrots, a whole onion and cook for 10 minutes.
