Mint is far from the only fragrant greens that can be used to diversify drinks. Basil with its expressive smell and aftertaste is perfect for the same purpose. This time I suggest adding it to the gooseberry compote.
Ingredients
- Gooseberry - 300 g
- Lemon - 0.5 pieces
- Basil - 3 twigs
- Sugar - 300 g
- Water - 2.5 l
Step-by-step cooking recipe
Sort out the gooseberries and basil, cut the lemon into slices and put everything in a sterile jar.
Pour boiling water and leave for 10 minutes.
Drain the water into a saucepan, add sugar, boil again and pour back in.
Roll up the compote for the winter.
