This recipe for pickled gherkins with mustard is my family favorite! They turn out crispy, fragrant and with a delicate taste of spices. And, of course, a nice bonus – such gherkins can be enjoyed all year round.
Ingredients
- Gherkins - 1 kg
- Water - 1.2 l
- Mustard Seeds - 1 tbsp.l .
- Sugar - 5 tbsp.l .
- Salt - 2 art.l.
- Garlic - 4 teeth
- Bay leaf - 4 pieces
- Dill - 4 umbrella
- Currant leaves - 4 pieces
- Cherry leaves - 4 pieces
- Allspice - 4 peas
- Black Pepper - 4 peas
- Carnation - 4 bud
- Vinegar - 100 ml
Step-by-step cooking recipe
Soak the gherkins for a couple of hours in cold water.
Put all the additives and gherkins in sterile jars.
Pour boiling water and leave for half an hour under the lid. Drain this water.
Boil clean marinade water with salt, sugar and vinegar. Boil for 2-3 minutes.
Fill the gherkins with marinade and roll them up for the winter.
