You can endlessly argue about which recipe of borscht is a classic, but in fact, every housewife has her own. Today I will tell you one of the options. Such borscht is cooked on pork, beets are fried, and only salt and black pepper are needed from spices.

Cut the meat into medium-sized pieces, rinse, pour water and boil for 10 minutes.
Change the water, add black pepper and cook for 1.5 hours after boiling.
Peel potatoes, beets and onions, chop. Grate the carrots, chop the cabbage into small strips.
Fry onions and carrots in oil until golden brown.
Add the beets and continue to fry for 7 minutes, stirring constantly.
Separately mix tomato paste, 300 ml of broth and sugar.
Pour the tomato liquid into a frying pan and simmer for 15 minutes over low heat.
Add potatoes, roast and cabbage to the pan. Boil everything together for 7 minutes.
Add salt and turn off. Insist borscht under the lid for 15-20 minutes. When serving, add a little basil.
