The easiest way to make the compote stand all winter even in the closet is to add a little citric acid. And at the same time, it will give the apple drink a pleasant citrus sourness, even if there was no whole lemon or orange at hand.

Ingredients

  • Apples - 400 g
  • Sugar - 250 g
  • Citric acid - 1 tsp.
  • Water - 2.5 l

Step-by-step cooking recipe

Randomly slice the apples and put them in a clean jar.

Pour boiling water and leave for 15-20 minutes under the lid.

Drain this water and add sugar to it. Boil again and add citric acid.

Pour the apples again and roll them up for the winter.
