I don't like to make cherry jam. It takes half a day to separate the bones. But I prepare cherry compote with seeds for the winter every summer. It's fast, delicious, and healthy.

Ingredients

  • Cherries - 1 kg
  • Sugar - 500 g
  • Citric acid - 20 g

Step-by-step cooking recipe

Prepare jars for rolling compote. They do not need to be sterilized, it will be good enough to wash them.

Wash the cherries. Remove excess garbage, rotten berries. Arrange in jars in approximately the same amount.

Fill the jars with berries with boiling water, cover with lids and let stand for about 15 minutes.

Drain the water back into the pan and put it on the fire. When the water boils, add sugar and stir. Boil for a couple of minutes and add citric acid.

Pour the syrup over the berries and roll them up. Put the jars to cool in a dark place. Later hide it in the pantry or lower it into the basement.
