Peel the pears and cut into slices. Chop the lemon.

Cover the fruit with sugar and leave for a couple of hours.

Bring the jam to a boil and cook for 10 minutes on low heat.

Add poppy seeds and spices. Boil the jam for another 15 minutes.

Roll it up in sterilized jars.
